Greenscape of Jacksonville, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to enriching Jacksonville through planting, protecting and promoting trees, invites the Jacksonville community to its first-ever “Greenscape Tree Festival.” The family-focused fundraising event will take place April 1, Jacksonville’s Official Arbor Day, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Metropolitan Park.
The Tree Festival replaces Greenscape’s annual tree sale. Instead of selling trees, the organization plans to give away 5,000 trees to attendees on a first-come, first-served basis. Activities will include children’s arts and crafts, a petting zoo, entertainment and educational talks on trees and the environment. A dog adoption opportunity will be presented by the Jacksonville Humane Society because dogs really love trees. Specially selected vendors and food trucks, including beer, will be available onsite.
